Lonely Planet review for Lobelix
Beneath the trees on Piazza Savoia, the terrace here is a favourite place for an aperitivo – its buffet banquet is one of Turin’s most extravagant.

Funky, Friendly Buffet
jetgirly recommends this,
Lobelix is located in Piazza Savoia, with a large obelisk in the center of the square. Known for its great mixed drinks and expansive aperitivo offering, Lobelix is a great place to meet with friends, get a little tipsy and fill your tummy. Every evening Lobelix changes from regular bar to aperitivo bar- the price of drinks goes way up (last time I visted it was seven euros, but it could easily be eight or nine now), but buying a drink gives you access to the endless supply of food being brought out of the kitchen and placed along the bar and countertops. Grab a plastic knife, fork and plate and help yourself to everything from grilled, marinated vegetables to roast chicken to fresh pasta to sweet treats. While it's a bit gauche to heap your plate high and turn the aperitivo into a dinner, it's definitely not unheard of! Backpackers, students and young people just starting out regularly turn aperitivo time into a full meal. The atmosphere in Obelix is young, fun and loud. The lower level gets really packed but there are usually tables to be found upstairs, often with beautiful views of the piazza below.
