Do you know of any suggestions?
Or other possibilities to do this leg with public transport?

Regards from Karl

So I will be travelling around Campania for 5 days in September with my friend who is from Campania. I just want to be prepared before I go. This is how the trip is planned:

Day 1 - in the Italian countryside near to Benevento (at my friend's house)
Day 2 - a quiet day in Benevento
Day 3 - Sorrento, what would you recommend to do here? Would it be good to take a boat to Capri for a few hours?
Day 4 & 5 Naples - I hope to see the main sights here, like the palace, the two castles and some of the…

Hello,

My girlfriend and I will be driving up to the Lakes Region from Nice (down there for a wedding) and think spending two nights in the Piedmont region would be a great way to break up the drive and see more of Italy. We are trying to figure out what town to base ourselves in for the two nights. Our initial search has shown large private homes for rent (with pools) out in smaller towns for very reasonable rates, or nice hotels in some of the smaller cities (Alba, Asti) for the same price…

Hi folks, I will be sailing the Aeolian Islands the first week of August (yes, I know it is the craziest season to be traveling in!) and am trying to decide where I should spend the weekend after finishing the sail. I will in all likelihood be flying out of Catania late afternoon Sunday so I am just looking for a beautiful place to chill for a few days though a place that is seaside, beautiful and historic would be great. I have heard Cefalu, Taormina and Agrigento are all great options but if…

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice if I may. Have had a search but can't really find anything on here and nothing definitive using google.

I'm looking at borrowing my mates camera while travelling in Italy. Once I'm done with it I need to send it to him in South Africa (where he is travelling). The question I have is will I have to pay tax going through customs? Both of us live in New Zealand.

Thanks
Paul

I have a short trip coming up to Naples at the end of June. I arrive late Saturday night and depart on Wednesday evening which gives me three full days (Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday) and most of a fourth day in the region (flying in and out of Naples).

I've got a very reasonably-priced place booked in Naples (Centro Storico) for all 4 nights I'll be there. I would really like to visit an island (either Ischia or Procida, Capri seems a bit fancy/expensive for my tastes) and I'm wondering if I…

Hello, we will be in Rome for 4 days this summer and I am considering Roma pass for us. However, I am a bit confused as to whether I need a pass for my daughter as well?

We plan to do Colosseum & Galarie Borghese among other things and plan to use public transportation. Our accommodation is near Vatican so will be using metro/bus to get to city center.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

My daughter and I will be traveling to Italy for 4 weeks in July. We'd like to spend a 5 days to a week at a beach somewhere between Genoa and Cinque Terre. There is the possibility of a car if necessary, otherwise we'll train it. Looking for somewhere a bit lower key if at all possible. We usually use AirB&B or the monastery/convent stays, but somewhere with small, modest hotels works as well. I know I might be asking for too much during peak summer.

Thanks for any advice. Ciao!
Suz

We just spent 2 weeks cycling in Puglia. We are two couples 50s/60s. We took our own bicycles. I find trip reports helpful for planning so I thought I would share. Temperatures were on the cool side – 18°-20° most days with it warming up at the end.

We landed in Bari and arranged to store our bike boxes at our accommodation for our return. Since we landed late the first night we stayed 2 nights in Bari and then returned for our final night. We liked Bari a lot more than we thought we would…
