Lonely Planet review for Trattoria Coco Lezzone
A cheerful, homely spot with a white-tiled interior and photographs of famous customers. No credit cards, (bizarrely!...) no coffee, just a handwritten menu and very good food at this tiny kitchen-style trattoria, where unnecessary concessions simply don't need to be made. Ribollita (Tuscan soup; included in the excellent-value ‘Florence nostalgia' menu, €25 including 25cl of wine and mineral water) is the house speciality and Friday is fresh-fish day.

Not bad for a taverna...
cpapad does not recommend this,
Not bad for a taverna... but for sure not a place that somebody SHOULD go. I am Greek and our food culture is quite similar but I was really not impressed. And also quite expensive for what you get at the end.
I will be unfair if I will claim that food was not good. But for sure not something special.
By the way, very friendly people and staff.Good for: experience

Amazing, still dreaming about it 6 months later

While I can go on and on telling you how amazing this restaurant is, I must address a few of the items in the negative review below. Obviously a person who knows about true Italian cooking especially Tuscan cooking would know that simplicity is the key. Their peasant food is the stuff of legends and how something done so simply due to its quality can be so amazing. The taste of the pasta with peas is exactly how it sounds but the taste its extraordinary. Sounds like the reviewer below would have been happier at a tourist trap style place with chicken parm on the menu and parsely sprinkled around the plate. There really isnt a menu, the waiter will tell you what the kitchen made that day, it is that rustic and simple. Every review on every other site hads nothing but praise for this restaurant, sadly if you are not someone who can appreciate local foods and are struck with a westernized pallette this place may not be for you. If you do try this local legendary place try the pappa ala pomodoro, a tomato bread soup. It is so good that I would take it with me to the afterlife cause there won't be anything like it anywhere else.

Surprised
rgrelsamer recommends this,
We really worked up an appetite for this July 2009 visist - and were disappointed.
There is no decor.
There is no attempt to explain the Italian menu to someone who doesn't speak Italian.
There is no attempt to make the dishes visually appealing. It's a piece of meat on a plain white dish. The portions are not big (contrary to all the advance billing).
The only good news is that the service is instantaneous. Oh, and not that expensive.
You're out of there in a half hour (and glad to be out). Although we were well dressed and polite, I got the impression they wanted us out....
The food was very reasonable, but nothing extraordinary.Good for: food, service
