Lonely Planet review for Osteria del Gatto e la Volpe
On the corner of Via de' Giraldi, this is a small and welcoming spot where the food is reasonable and the prices are stable. It gets its fair share of tourists, but this hasn't yet ruined what's on offer at the 'Cat and Wolf'. It's closer to a genuine Florentine experience than most of the places that line this much-trampled city.

Great Find!
mirdenoms recommends this,
This place is phenomenal! To the negative poster...Get over it, good food takes time to prepare. If you're feeling gluttonous I recommend the "Bistecca alla Fiorentina". Trust me, you WON'T be disappointed. Do yourself a favor and buy a bottle of their house balsamic vinegar. It's a bit pricey but you won't find better balsamic vinegar anywhere else in Europe or the US for that matter. I took six bottles of the stuff home with me and have been craving it since emptying my last bottle. If you're an American like myself, remember; things in Italy (especially Florence) tend move at a slower pace. Dinner isn't supposed to be a marathon event. Treat it as a time for you, your friends, and your family to enjoy one another’s company. This is a quaint, laid back, dimly lit, little place with excellent house wine and great food. Remember, this is their home not yours, I'm sure if you had to deal with pushy Americans everyday you'd get sick of dealing with them too. It's really unfortunate that a select few give the rest of us such a bad rap. Treat them as you’d like to be treated and they’ll take good care of you. I personally found the staff to be quite nice and didn’t have any problems with them any of the times we ate there. I’d like to thank my lovely travel partner Ms. L.M. Jones for introducing me to this little gem. Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Munich, Lost in Udine, Florence, Milan…

Go to Mcdonalds!!
dadi does not recommend this,
This was the worst place that we have been in all our Tuscany trip. The meal took almost one and half hour and so we decided to complain about it..the result was that the waiter asked us why we did not ask him how long it usually takes and according to him we were supposed to go to McDonalds! A real nightmare, the waiters were very rude and not able to deal with tourists.

Fantastic Find in Florence

Food was excellent - best veal in Italy. Great find in Florence. Wait staff was superb. Spoke limited English, but was no trouble communicating. Great find...would highly recommend.
