Rare value in this stretch of Florence, this recently spruced-up restaurant has simple but surprisingly savoury pastas and roast meats, plus a touch of class with its gilt frames and wood-panelled walls. Besides offering great value, the jolly owner works to make even foreigners feel at home.

    We had three meals here - all delicious!

    My husband and I were in Florence for two weeks September 2011. We ate out every lunch and dinner at (I estimate) at least 15 different restaurants, trattorias, pizzarias and bars. This is the only place we ate at three times - the food was so good we could not stay away. The waiters were friendly and the setting pleasant. The location in downtown Florence was very easy to get to on foot. I registered onto the Lonely Planet website solely for the purpose of praising this restaurant. Buon Appetito!
