At his flagship restaurant, Fabio Picchi sticks largely to ancient and often humble Florentine recipes, such as salisicce di maiale con fagioli e cavolo nero (sausage with beans and greens) and a kind of pudding of ricotta and potatoes adorned with meat sauce and parmesan. Finish your meal with a divine cheesecake dressed with bitter orange marmalade. Reserve as far in advance as possible. If you’re on a budget or couldn’t finagle a reservation, you join the queue (reservations not accepted) for the same dishes from the same kitchen at virtually half the price at Cibrèino, the significantly more hectic trattoria that sits next door.

    Stay away from the trattoria

    lonelyhunter87 does not recommend this,

    There are three Cibreos owned by the same people: the restaurant, the trattoria and the cafe. I dined at the trattoria and that was my worst experience in Florence. The only reason I'm rating it with one star is that this page won't let you give no stars at all...
    The trattoria is small and you may have to share the same table with others, but this is not a big problem so long as the waiters don't mix the orders as it happened in our case.
    I found the waiters most annoying. They do speak several languages and are willing to translate the italian only menu, however their version of "witty and friendly" actually means "make fun of customers who are unfamiliar with the tuscan cuisine". When they got the orders wrong and I didn't recognise what was on my plate, I was picked at instead of receiving an apology and I felt very uncomfortably.
    When finally the right dishes arrived the portions were too small for what they cost. Still, I wish I had left half of my food on the plate like the people we were sharing the table with, because the food hygiene proved to be poor: when I went back to my hotel I was shivering and feeling nauseous and only felt better when I vomited!
