It’s unfortunate that this wonderfully simple corner cafe only opens for lunch, because you couldn’t dine better at these prices. Sate yourself for €10. Eat like a peasant-king for €15. The septuagenarian nonna in the kitchen produces simple but delicious pastas and roasted meats, but the real draw are the contorni (grilled or sautéd vegetables). Tables are communal and water and wine are buffet-style – drink at will.

    This corner caffe,was one of the highlights of one of my holidays to Firenze,Italy. Maurizio and his staff became friends over my month stay. The food is amazing. The prices are very reasonable. This is not a tourist place. This is where all the regulars from the neighborhood eat and get together. i met so many new friends. I cannot wait to go back in October for the month!!! Saturdays are wonderful music and someone almost always starts to dance or burst into song!!! I actually was pulled up to dance with a lovely older man. These people,this restaurant is the real deal! Not fancy,but can become fanciful in a moments notice. Each day i would come for lunch, i would say surprise me!!! each dish was wonderful.If you want a touch of real Florence,you must have luch here!! Anna Elisabetta
