Begin your Florence trip with Freya, a vital investment

We landed Sunday, and had a half-day tour with Freya on the Monday morning. What an investment! She guided us around the city, both the usual popular highlights and the not often seen, but important cultural areas. As we saw David, the Uffutzi, etc , we learned fascinating facts, history, and the bits the guides don't mention - "tomorrow is valentine's day, the tickets are 2 for 1 at the Uffutzi". As we walked around the beautiful streets, Freya pointed out exceptional restaurants and cafes, not just because of the quality of the food, but because they are the ones used most by italians, or perhaps the food they serve is iconic of Italy/Florence.
On the tour, she eagerly answered questions, and changed the tour as we decided we'd heard things we liked and wanted to see more.
During the morning she took us to a cafe she recommended, ordered a round of coffees and cakes (free), and then writes down a list of places/sights/areas she would recommend.
We then spent the rest of the week visiting the sights, using her recommendations, and trying all the things she suggested we try.
It's shocking to realise our trip wouldn't have been half it was without Freya.Good for: history, advice, Discovering Florence

Freya's Florence - the only way to truly experience Florence

I found Freya's Florence in Lonely Planet - and am so happy I did!
My wife and I were visiting Florence for the first time and, although we'd done our homework and read up on what not to miss, we felt some help was needed. Freya was fantastic!! She planned two amazing itineraries (over two days), consulting with us beforehand via email. Seeing the city through her eyes was incredible! Her knowledge of art and history was obvious, but what was so awesome was the way she presented it - it was true entertainment! Her love of Florence was obvious and her enthusiasm infectious. We loved her commentary (with fascinating tid bits of past and present life in Florence) as we explored places we'd never have found on our own. Her suggestions for restaurants was spot on too! We just loved Freya and hope she'll be still there next time we visit Florence.....as we certainly plan on doing!Good for: Discovering Florence
