Dolomites - Must See in 2 Days

Hi all,

I'm doing a fleeting road trip from Munich through Dolomites, Croatia, through Slovenia and back up to Munich this June/July. My trip will be between 8-10 days.

Does anyone have any tips for visiting the Dolomites? So far I've found the Tre Cime circuit which I think would fill one day and looks simple enough. Are there any gondolas which could take me up a bit higher on other trails?

Any recommendations / information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh

Paestum to Sicily

What is the best way of getting from Paestum/Salerno to Sicily by public transportation? Can this be done in a day if the starting point is Paestum? End point in Sicily could be Messina (or Palermo). What is the estimated travel time?

Thanks.

Suggestions for relaxed northern Italy with 20month old

Hello helpful folk,
I'm travelling to northern Italy in early-mid June with my wife and 20 month old daughter, and we're after some suggestions for a relaxed week somewhere. I'll put a list of ideals, so that you can see what we're after, but we would be happy if we don't get all of these:

Unhurried place (can be touristy or not), so not a busy city; generally less expensive; beach (or somewhere to swim); great food; fresh food market; doesn't need to be rich in 'sites' (famous museums,…

Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, Capri

Hi everyone

I will be travelling from Manchester to Italy at the end of May and I was hoping to visit the Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre and Capri ideally. I would love some advice on where I should fly directly into, in which order I should visit these places and generally getting around. I am happy for suggestions on other places to visit for day trips etc.

After Italy I was planning to move onto Greece so need to also find where in Italy to leave from as well. I have visited Italy before…

Venice was thinking about banning wheeled suitcases

Hey, backpackers! Are you also fed up by the invasion of these annoying wheeled suitcases?

http://www.independent.co.uk/travel/europe/venice-bans-wheel-suitcases-to-stop-noise-pollution-and-protect-its-historic-streets-9880369.html

As practical as they may be listening to the sound of these little monsters at railway stations or airports is a torture and I almost tripped over a couple of times bumping into these.

Naples and Amalfi Coast

Hi

I'm going to a wedding in Sorrento in May and want to make a holiday out of the journey at the same time.
I've booked my flights and arrive in the afternoon of the 13th May, I want to take in as much of Amalfi coast as possible whilst I am there and would prefer some of the smaller towns as opposed to the bigger more touristy towns. I have done a bit of research and come up with the below. Does anyone have any suggestions? Do I need to spend the night in Nocelle if I am going to do the…

Entrance Milano Cimitero Monumentale

Hi,
I want to visit the big cemetery in Milan on Friday. A friend of mine was in Milano 2 weeks ago and told me, the cimitero monumentale is closed due to building activities. He said the main entrance is closed and there is no other way in, just a sign "authorized persons only". I tried to verify that and found information about contruction works for the Metro in front of the cemetery. I think my friend just didn't find the entrance...

Can anybody tell me if the cimitero monumentale is open as…

Day trips from Palermo

In May (around ascension day), I will visit Palermo with three friends. We will stay in the city for a few days, and might want to rent a car for one day to do a trip outside of the city.

Does anybody have any tips? We like nature, good food and archaeology sites. To make the most of our single day, perhaps there is something we can do with an English-speaking guide, but that's not required.
