Do Italian restaurants accommodate gluten free diners yet? It has been a recent development in the Uk that gluten free sections in supermarkets and on menus are now common. My 9 year old is allergic to wheat (it makes her unbearably itchy) but we all enjoy pizzas. In the uk we can find gluten free pizza bases and have taken them to pizza restaurants with us when necessary. Last time we were in Italy the local restaurants were very family friendly and I can't imagine they would mind accommodating…
Hello, does anyone please have some pointers for me on the following?
We are spending the last 2 weeks of august in an apartment block next to lake como, where there is a swimming pool and access to the lake by boat. However we have children of 4, 6 and 9 years old, and would like to do more than hang out around the pool and eat ice creams & pizza in beautiful lakeside towns/ villages (although of course this will be part of the fun!).
We have a rental car and I would like to plan in some…
We have 2.5 days in Rome in early August (arriving Monday eve, departing Thursday afternoon from the airport) We have two full days at our disposal. Hi - I will be traveling throughout Italy and someone told me that I have to have a credit card with a chip in it or I may not be able to use my credit card. Have you found this to be true? My credit card company said they are still working on putting a chip in the card. Wondering if I need to apply for a new credit card with a chip?
Thanks for your assistance.

- Similar to Tuscany or the Amalfi coast in terms of scenery, non-major city, availability of villas/ farmhouses.
- Access to a large farmhouse in an area…
A family of 4, we will be spending a month of June in the Southern Italy. So far we are set to spend first two weeks in Puglia sharing time between Otranto, Martina Franco and Trani, with day trips around.
We are looking to rent apartments for few days in each of the towns above. Are there any web-sites such www sublet com, that can be recommended to search for some (economical) options? Something, that is Europe-centric or even local to Italy or Southern Italy/Puglia. It's ok if the postings…
