Zimmerbus is a family-run guesthouse that has been included in a French publication listing the 1001 most special places to stay in the world. It is situated in the little hilltop village of Ezuz near the Sinai-border, home to a colorful variety of artists, organic farmers and natural builders. The resort is owned by Eyal & Avigail Hirshfeld, and a highlight of your stay will be meeting them face to face, a Jewish family pioneering in the desert with eight children.

Zimmerbus consists of 3 buses that have been converted into deluxe guestrooms. Each bus has air-conditioning, a fully-equipped kitchen, ensuite bathroom and outside sitting area, and prices include bedding, towels, tea/coffee, basic toiletries and free internet. The resort has a natural swimming pool, ping pong table and barbeque facilities for the use of guests.

Ezuz is the kind-of place where you can just kick back and breathe in the open spaces, or you can take advantage of the various activities families here have to offer. There is a camel farm which does safaris and there are different options for jeep tours, bicycle trails and hikes. There is an organic goat farm which sells delicious dairy products and a Nabatian farm specializing in organic fruits and vegetables. You can visit or do a workshop at Shachaf and Ori's pottery studio or learn from them a natural building technique called Kash-Kal. There is also among our residents 2 sculptors, a mask-maker, an acrobat, a clown, a magician, a jewelery-maker and a blacksmith. For an ice-cold beer or something to munch you can head next door to Cafe Ezuz with its chilled-out Sinai-style atmosphere and tasty pizzas and French crepes.

There are no stores in our community but a coffee shop. We can provide breakfast or dinner but please contact us beforehand to arrange. The buses do have fully equipped kitchens so one can bring and prepare your own food.

The guest units are self-catering if you wish to bring your own food. It is advisable to shop in Beer Sheva (or another city) for food to bring. There is a small supermarket in our area in Kadesh Barnea (a neighboring village a 15 min drive away), but the stock is limited and prices are expensive. Meals can be ordered in advance from Avigail’s kitchen and come with her delicious home-baked pita bread fresh from the oven. There is also a very cool coffee shop – Café Ezuz – next door, which has a great atmosphere and sells delicious pizzas, crepes, cold beers, etc..
