I have a last minute chance to go to Israel for work and would like to add some extra time on and cross a land border into Jordan. I am traveling on a US passport but do not have time to get a visa in advance. I have read you need a visa in advance to cross at Allenby/King Hussein Bridge and at Wadi Araba. I can get one at the Sheikh Hussein border but will be traveling Saturday morning and have read that their are no buses to the border during that time. I will have a free day in Tel Aviv…

Hi, I have a midday 9 hour layover in Doha. I would love to leave the airport and scope out the city for about 6 hours, but I'm not sure if it's worth the $70 visa.
Does anyone have any tips for having the best 6 hours in Doha? Is it worth leaving the airport and what is the cost of transportation to the city center?

We will arrive at Tehran International Airport on a Friday at 4.30 AM. Our intention is to hire a taxi at IKA and spend some hours in Qom, from there take a bus to KASHAN.
Since it's a Friday, do you know the visiting hours for non-muslims? Gate 14 for non-muslims?
Any idea about recent cost of taxi from IKA to QOM?
Regards,
Enric

Dubai layover, continued

I just checked bookings.com for hotels and as expected there are hundreds listed. The problem is I'm not familiar with Dubai. What would be a good area, near attractions/shopping malls to stay in for our layover? We're not interested in beach activities.
