Garden of Gethsemane information
Around the Church of All Nations is the popularly accepted site of the Garden of Gethsemane , the garden where Jesus is believed to have been arrested (Mark 14:32-50). The garden has some of the world’s oldest olive trees (in Hebrew gat shmanim means ‘oil press’), three of which have been scientifically dated as being over 2000 years old, making them witnesses to whatever biblical events may have occurred here. The entrance is not from the main road but from the narrow, steeply inclined alleyway that you’ll find leading up behind the church.
