    Lonely Planet review

A perfect example of a hostel with unrealised potential, the Citadel is only worth considering if the Abraham, Hashimi and Jaffa Gate Hostels are full. A labyrinthine 500-year-old building with plenty of jerry-built additions, it offers thin foam mattresses on the rooftop in summer, old mattresses on the dorm beds, cramped and smelly shared bathrooms and overpriced private rooms.

Our independent authors have visited Citadel Youth Hostel and selected this as one of our recommended hostels in Jerusalem.

    Description provided by property

Voted number 1 hostel for Israel in July & Sept 2009 from customers, for the sake of convenience, cost and little extras (like free wi fi), this place is recommended as one of the best budget choices in the Old City just in the center of all quarters in a quite street highest building in the city giving you phenomenal views highly recommended by all guide books ro..
