Lonely Planet review for Nazareth Village
If you're having trouble imagining Jesus doing anything miraculous amid the bustle of modern Nazareth, then step back 2000 years at Nazareth Village. Everyday life and commerce in a traditional Galilean village has been duly reconstructed with actors in period clothing leading tours of the working farm. Leave any nightmares of tacky olde worlde historical theme parks at the door - it's well done and worth a stop. It's a 15-minute walk due west from the basilica, just beyond Al-Wadi al-Jawani St.

Absolutely the best thing to do in Nazareth, worth a trip!

I did wonder if this would be a tacky theme park. It is not. It is simple but very well done, the local guide is thorough and answers every question you can possibly think of. The land it is situated upon was very likely ground that Jesus would have walked upon as a lad, seeing as he spent the vast majority of his life in Nazareth before he started his ministry. It really is liking stepping back into time (which sounds like a cliche, but is the best way to describe it). You do need to be able to walk up steps, so if you have some sort of disability, you may want to ask them before you book the tour (which is very reasonably priced). Nazareth itself is a bustling, busy town with traffic jams and lots of atmosphere! This little village, is well worth the trip, and situated right in the middle of town, so it's easy to find. Go!!
