Lonely Planet review for Marsh’s Library

Virtually unchanged for 300 years, Marsh’s Library is a glorious example of an 18th-century scholar’s den. In fact, it is one of the few buildings from that time that still retains its original usage. The beautiful, dark oak bookcases, each topped with elaborately carved and gilded gables, are filled with some 25,000 books dating from the 15th to the early 18th century.
