Lonely Planet review for Johnnie Fox's

Ireland's highest-altitude pub is about 45 minutes from Dublin in the Wicklow Mountains. Some people find it kitsch and overdone, but it's actually an authentic old place full of bric-a-brac, gnarled benches, sawdust floors and crackling open fires. The fabulous (but pricey) seafood and nightly Irish music are another draw.

    the life saver!

    peterscargill recommends this,

The Wicklow Mountains are beautiful and amazing! So my brother and i decided to hike
them. We planned it all out (or so we thought). it was so sunny the first day and hiking the
mountains was a joyous occasion at least untill it started raining on the second day! and i mean it started lashing down cats and dogs, we were getting drenched! we had a look at our map and saw that Jonnie Foxs was close by(thank God).
we arrived to a lovely warm pub with a big fire and a great atmosphere(everyone couldnt believe we were hiking in that rain!)
Both of us ordered clam chowder to warm our selves up and we both agree it was the best clam chowder we've ever had!
i cant rate this place highly enough! thanks Johnnie Foxs.
