Want a free Italian lesson? Drop into this fabulous trattoria and eavesdrop in this rustic piece of the Old Boot, where the food is exuberantly authentic, and includes brus­chetta, homemade pasta, Italian sausage, cannelini beans and the like. The Italian wines are buonissimi.

    Delicious authentic Italian - and no Pizza!

    All hidden eateries have the best surprises! Found tucked away down into an old cellar on Meeting House Square, this Roman decorated tavern has a warm, dimly lit, cosy atmosphere. The staff are gruffly friendly in this no-nonsense Italian restaurant/wine tavern, even other local Italians actually eat in here, so that's promising!
    The menu is very authentic Italian and most importantly delicious but don’t expect pizza - they don’t do it here! The traditional pasta plate is avoided here and instead they put their own spin on dishes for example try the Fettucine Con Calamari pasta with squid, peas, garlic, white wine and tomato. Food prices are very reasonable for town centre but wine is costly, after all it is a wine bar too!
