If it’s massive New York–style sandwiches or sticky chicken wings you’re after, this bustling upmarket diner is just the joint. Be prepared to queue though, especially at weekends when Elephant & Castle heaves with the hassled parents of wandering toddlers, wealthy suburbanites and hung-over 20-somethings, all in pursuit of a carb-fest and quiet corner to peruse the paper.
