    Think Tank

Dance DJs, Battle of the Bands nights, visiting live acts and numerous other assorted festivities make up the menu at this basement club in Temple Bar – Strictly Handbag, Dublin’s longest running club night, takes place on Monday nights and still draws them in with its fun mixed bag of ’80s tunes.

    Renard’s

Run by Colin Farrell’s godfather, and Colin’s (and other celebs’) favourite den of iniquity when in town, Renard’s is an intimate club with a strict door policy when busy. Music is mainly house, with soul, funk and jazz making the odd appearance.

    Rogue

Relative newcomer on the block, Rogue is an intimate two-floored venue and home to the Bodytonic crew, who specialise in expertly mixed disco, house and electro. Expect to hear melodic and deep house and techno at the excellent Discotonic on Saturday nights.

    Underground@Kennedy’s

Beneath this busy pub is a suitably sweaty, darkened room that plays regular host to some top-class local and international DJs playing a variety of styles from house to hip hop.

    Rí Rá

The emphasis has long been on funky stuff, from soul to hip-hop, but there’s plenty of rock thrown in.
