Lonely Planet review

This über -bar and microbrewery is spread across three levels, connected by a truly imperious staircase, and is a disconcerting mix of young and old, intimate and brash. Its own beers are worth contemplating, but not on the weekend when the place is absolutely jammers.

Like the Porterhouse, Messrs Maguire is part of a micro-revolution going on in Dublin's brewing scene. It's a gigantic 'überbar' spread across three levels, offering five of its own brews, from a creamy Porter to the German-style Haus beer. It may be a little barn-like and impersonal compared to the traditional local, but the choice is unarguable.
