Traveling from Heathrow to Barnet (north London) arriving 7/15 afternoon. Suggestions on cheap taxi, limo options? We will have two overhead bin size bags and a backpack. Thanks! Wantok
My friend and I are looking for privileged information via local insight/opinion regarding a brief 2D/2N road trip through Northern Ireland from Dublin. We were planning on staying in Belfast the first night, then driving the coast to Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-rede Rope Bridge, etc. We'd also like to drive through Donegal area on the way back to Dublin. Does anyone have any suggestions of a unique place to stay on the second night? Likewise, any spots of interest to check out that…
Wondering if it's possible to just walk certain segments of The Kerry Way, if not having 9+ days to walk the full length? If so, can anyone recommend good start/end points for maybe a 2-4 day walk?
I'm in Dublin for a wedding July 10, and wanting to see a little of southern Ireland afterwards, thinking about renting a car for 3 or 4 days, and wondering if anyone would be up for sharing petrol costs and joining me? I'm happy enough to pay the actual rental cost myself, it's not that expensive. Accommodation wise I was thinking looking for small, local places ...etc, but open to discussion on that.
If interested drop me a message and we can chat and find out about each other…
Sleep in Boutique Hotel, Denmark street, from €35 including a great breakfast.
Eat in Costellos Tavern. €10 for a good steak meal.
Drink Guiness in Flannery's pub, on Shannon street (the bit of Roches street that leads to river).
First post here; my girlfriend and I will be traveling to Ireland for 9 days was hoping to get some insight into a first-go at an itinerary.
Bit about us: Mid-20s, live in New York City, coming to get a nice balance between Irish city culture and natural beauty. She's a musician, I'm a filmmaker; planning on making a little film along the way. We're going to rent a car for the trip to make traveling between cities easier, as well as being able to stop at our own leisure.
I'm taking my family of 4 (two elementary school aged children) to Ireland for 9 days in a few weeks (early July). I would appreciate any thoughts/feedback on my planned itinerary below:
2 full days in Dublin. Hotel is booked so this part is fixed.
3rd day check out early, pick up rental car and head towards Dingle - full day driving with a lot of stops - seeing the sights along the way taking our time - considering Kilkenny, Cashel, Blarney, West Cork or… Check into hotel…
We (family of 4) are thinking of traveling around Ireland in August with a rental car for 3 weeks. We prefer to not have to make reservations well ahead of time in order to be flexible, and we are flexible with types of accommodations. One thing that we are concerned about is accommodation availability in August since it is high season.
Question - For August in Ireland, do we need to have all our accommodations reserved well in advance? If so, we may consider visiting another time.
If anyone is looking for a reliable, friendly and competitively priced coach provider for tours or corporate functions around Ireland, I would whole-heartedly and highly recommend Philip Jones Coach Hire from Limerick. And here's why..
Unlike other coach companies in Limerick I had contacted, Phil (owner of the company) was always responsive and would get back to me on availability almost at the very first instance. It was for a few conference functions that I required the company's service…
