Kilkenny Design Centre
Across the Parade from Kilkenny Castle, the 1760-built former castle stables have been extensively renovated. The front building contains the gallery-like shops of the Kilkenny Design Centre, where top-end Irish crafts and artwork for sale includes items by artisans county-wide. Its cafe is one of the best places in town for home-baked breads and scones, salads such as warm chicken with smoked bacon and feta, and sumptuous desserts.
