My brother and I are traveling to Ireland to run The Dublin Marathon. We use to be strong show backpackers but now we are just two normal guys taking off for a week to Ireland to hang out as brothers. We are looking for two EPiC places to stay. We want something that says "Ireland" - it doesn't have to be inexpensive or luxurious. We are willing to pay more if it means we have an amazing place to stay (ie a castle or a cottage in a random field or camping on a cliff). We are both…
Does anyone know which hotel is the better one to stay in? They are completely on opposite sides of city centre so I am torn on which to stay. Ideally we would like to be in a location that is walking distance to sights, food/pubs, and stuff going on in the evening for us to be in with the locals. Also, a location that will be easy to get to/from Dublin Airport. Thanks.
I am currently planning out my jump across the sea from Boston to Dublin. Ireland is going to be the first stop in my backpacking adventures and i plan on spending a month or a little over alone in Ireland. I am planning on using a work stay program. Has anyone used these? I am currently looking at workaday.info
If i do choose to go that route than i my living and food arrangements will be taken care of - now here is the tricky part. I am hoping to work part time while in ireland to get…
I am a 39 yr old, married, female & would like a female to travel with. My friend & I had planned a trip to Ireland for Aug 25-31. She had an accident & is not able to go now. I hate to cancel but don't want to go alone. My flight is flying into Dublin on Aug 25th & out of Shannon on 31st. Hotels have already been cancelled so I am open to stay in any town along the way. I know this is extremely last minute but if you are traveling alone & would like company, let me know. Thanks
I am a 27 year old French
I will rent a car on August 26th at Dublin to go to Galway. I've planned to stay there for 3 nights (vist Galway, Cliffs of Moher ...) and then move to Connemara distric for some hiking around lake and hill.
I think i will come back to Dublin on Monday. I will go back from Ireland on 4th.
I'm looking for company for this trip and share road coasts. I've booked some hostel for first days but otherwise i'm flexible.
If you want to share a part of this trip with me…
I will be traveling to Dublin for one week in late September for work and will have 2-3 full days to explore outside of the city. Distance/time in transit is a non-issue for me, as I'd like to get up early in the mornings to get going... Would love to get to the west coast to see the cliffs/Galway and on another day down to Wexford/Waterford/Cork - I understand that these are long, tiresome days (min. 10-12hrs), but I am fine with that. I investigated private car hire to be able to make…
My girlfriend and I are thinking of doing two weeks and hitting three cities: Dublin, London, Amsterdam. What are the must see sites and any advice on where to stay? We were thinking of AirBnb unless you guys have better options?
I want to spend the last night of my trip in Galway. My flight departs on a Friday at 11:00 am. There is a bus that departs 7:05a and arrives at 8:49a. That should give me a 2 hr 10 min window to get to the flight. That should work...right?
I'm flying out with my son to Ireland where he will study abroad in Galway. I'm putting together a last minute itinerary and need some guidance. I was going to use public transport, but am now leaning towards driving despite my fears of driving on the left.
25th: Arrive Dublin Airport, cab to Dublin (how much?) stay in Dublin.
26th: Do Newgrange bus tour, stay in Dublin.
27th: Cab to DUB airport where I will pick up rental car and drive to Kilkenny stopping at Glendalough.
Visit Kilkenny castle…
My Friend and I planned a 6 days itinerary hiking the Wicklow Way south to north, I would love to get feedback on my plan:

day 2 - walk from Glenmalure to Glendalough, overnight in Glendalough International Youth.
