Hi all,

Any tips on renting a car in Dublin? I know our USA insurance does not cover rentals in Ireland. We'll head from there for a week around the country and back to Dublin.
Should we bring our own GPS? Tips for riding on left side of the road if you're not used to it?

Thanks all!!

Hi, all!

A friend and I are planning a trip to Ireland at the end of July to the early parts of August (leaving either July 23rd-24th and returning somewhere between August 8th-10th) - which leaves us roughly two weeks in Ireland. We're both young (21 and 18, respectively) and renting a car is out of the question (neither of us feels comfortable driving, and I'm pretty sure I can't rent a car at 18). So we have to do it all by public transport (trains/buses/etc).
Here's what I've planned out so…

Hi there,
I want to plan about a 3 day break to do the Beara Peninsula. I'm wondering what are the best towns to stay in. My husband and I are really into food so we would be looking for somewhere with a good variety of decent restaurants and pubs for nighttime. Was thinking overnight in Bantry or Glengarriff and then on to Castletownbere. I'm ruling out an overnight stay in Kenmare as I have been there many times.
Thanks all :)

Hello

I am planing to walk the Wicklow way this July. I want to combine this with a visit to the Powerscourt house and the Powerscourt waterfall, and I have a few questions:

  1. Are the house and the waterfalls easily accessible from the Wicklow trail? Can they be reached either by foot or public transport?

From searching the web I didn't see that many people combine Powerscourt with the trail. Are there any particular problems with that?

  1. I am planning to start my day in Knockree (after…

Hi all,

My wife, myself and our 5 year-old daughter will be in Dublin for up to two weeks this summer. We are looking at airbnb and home stays and they seem a but pricey (we are used to developing countries). I don't think hostels would work with our daughter....any tips?

Many thanks-

D

Hi all, my wife and I will be in (and perhaps around) Dublin for two weeks (late July-early August) and are looking for (affordable) 5 year-old kid friendly activities. Any tips on where to go and/or close by cities to overnight in while we are there?

Thanks!

Dorothy

Hi everyone,
we are flying to Ireland for 5 days in August, or more like 4 since we will land sat. evening in Dublin and flying out thu. morning. Plan is mainly to skip Dublin this time and come back for that later on (weekend trip or something) last night would be spend at the airport hotel. We were planning to rent a car, driving a stick is not a problem and we have few days experience from Scotland so we should manage the left hand traffic somehow.
Here´s what we would like to know..
1. What…

We are spending our mini moon in Ireland and would like to get some advice on our road trip. We have 5 nights in Ireland and we are planning to land in Dublin on 29.08 and flying out of Cork on 3.09. Ideally looking to spend 2 nights in Dublin before heading out towards Galway and then on down to Cork. Could anyone please advise where to spend the other nights (assuming we will be in Cork on our 5th and final night) ? Also stops along the way that are worth seeing? Ideally looking to see some…
