Getting Around

Practical Tip: Navigating Galway

Galway's compact town centre straddles Europe's shortest river, the Corrib, which connects Lough Corrib to the sea. Most shops and services congregate on the river's eastern bank, while some of the city's best music pubs and restaurants cluster to the west. From this area, known logically as the West Side, a 10-minute waterfront walk leads you to the seaside suburb of Salthill.

To & From the Airports

Bus Éireann operates daily services to/from Shannon Airport (€15.50, 1¾ hours, hourly). All the major bus companies serve Dublin Airport.
