Lonely Planet review for Séhán Ua Neáchtain
Painted a bright cornflower blue, this 19th-century pub, known simply as Neáchtain’s (nock-tans), has a wraparound string of tables outside, many shaded by a large tree. It’s a place where locals plop down and let the world pass them by – or stop and join them for a pint.

The #1 stop on your "Best Guinness in Ireland" tour
candacedriskell recommends this,
Differnt cultures have different criteria on what makes a good bar. In Ireland, the quality of the Guinness is a major factor. Neáchtain's has a reputation for the best pint in town (although some would argue that the Dew Drop across the street pulls a better pint). The atmosphere is fantastic, and if you can find a seat in this much-loved pub, you should count yourself lucky and settle in for the day.
