What great amazing hidden places in Ireland has The Lonely Planet Ireland Guide missed?

I will start this by mentioning The Lough Derg way near Portroe Tipperary. This is a walk along Lough Derg lake and takes in Dromineer harbour, Castlelough picnic area and forest walk, GarryKennedy harbour with Larkins Bar and forest walk, the Lookout, the Millennium Cross and Graves of the Leinstermen on Tountinna hill.

Ireland - Possible Solo Trip

Hi everyone!

I am graduating college in May and have about 2 months before I start working full time, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to travel! I am planning a 2 week trip with my friend to Greece and Italy June 22-July 8. I have a great desire to go to Ireland as well, but my friend is only available for the 2 weeks we will be in Greece and Italy, so I was thinking of going to Ireland solo the week before my friend and I will meet up.

I have read a lot about solo travelers. I…

Cell phone plan/ SIM card in Ireland?

Hello, I am planning a trip to Ireland in the beginning of April, and will be there until the end of May. I'm visiting from Canada, and I'll be bringing my cell phone. I was wondering how much it would cost to pay a plan for my cell phone in Ireland?

First trip to Ireland - itinerary help?

Hi all,

My husband and I will be traveling to Ireland in August for two weeks to celebrate my 40th birthday. I've come up with an itinerary and just wanted to get some input. Is this too much? Are there any places we are overlooking? If you have any accommodation recommendations that would be appreciated as well (up to $200 a night).

Dublin 2-3 nights
Kinsale 2 nights (see rock of cashel/Kilkenny on way down?)
Dingle 2 nights (the Burren/Cliffs of Moher on way to Galway?)
Galway 2 nights

Ireland + Northern Ireland - Phone/Data/Sim Card

Traveling to Ireland and planning to road trip for the duration of our trip. Would like to get a sim card there and sign up for data so I can use google maps, internet etc.

My question is...

Will I be able to use my data in both Northern Ireland and Ireland without additional roaming in either? The phone company maps seem to include all of UK + Northern Ireland or just Ireland and not include North Ireland.

Obviously it would be much easier/cheaper to sign up for data with a phone company…

An aadition to the now locked "Money" thread posted recently :-

The OP should not take any defaced (pen marks, etc.) or damaged notes. These often will be refused for exchange by banks. Similarly, old, grotty notes may suffer a similar fate.

(I did try to PM the Mod "Cosima1" to add this but sensibly they do not accept certain PM's.)

Solo UK Sept/Oct - Tour Questions

Hello

I'm planning my first solo trip to the UK--it's actually my first solo trip ever (I have no one to go with and I'm tired of waiting so it's finally happening!). I'll be there for 3 weeks: Ireland to Scotland to England then home.

I'm a 27 yo female and to help me get around to all the places that I want to see, I'm looking at booking a couple of tours in Ireland and Scotland. I've pretty much figured out my itinerary and have looked into tours with Shamrocker and Haggis Adventures so…
