Dear Travellers, let me please ask a few questions about renting a car in Dublin.
I've tried to search for some answers already, though I am not that good with search engine here.

1) Should we rent a car through RyanAir, which we fly with, or should we book directly with the company?

2) We plan to stay the first and last night in Dublin, where we wonť need a car. Should we rent it in a city centre or should we go back to the airport for it?

3) I understand it is better to opt for Theft…

Hey everybody!

Shortly, I will be traveling to Ireland with my niece for two weeks along the Wild Atlantic Way! I have the route we will drive and most of the places we want to hit up, but the problem is I'm not sure where to spread the time over the two weeks and stop? Aside from Cork and Galway, where would you recommend stopping day-to-day for the night? Are there any areas worth two days of wandering around? We will start in Dublin and head to Cork in our rental car. From there we wish to…

Hey all, my trip to Ireland is approaching and I've been seeing things online that saw you need some sort of firearm license to carry even pepper spray? Is this true for Ireland? Thanks!

In late June, Is it necessary to book tickets in advance on the ferries between Doolin and Inishmore, or can we count on getting them at the last minute?
And the same question for the ferry from Rossaveal?

I saw an air ticket direct to Dublin for $435 in June. Needless to say, i am very tempted to book it but i am concerned whether i can get around without a car. I know i can take buses from city to city but once i get to the cities....are there local buses to get to the tourist attractions, i.e. Cliff of Moher, etc?

Thanks

Dear Group,

We have a multi-part trip planned for North Ireland/Ireland and are trying to put together a realistic driving itineraries. Most of the examples we have found are very focused on Southwest Ireland.

We are meeting in Belfast and plan on setting off July 5th. (My husband and I will arrive on the 2nd, the other couple in our party arrives on the 4th.) We'd planned on a day or two exploring the Antrim Coast, and then on to the Donegal/Wild Atlantic Way area. We are all interested…

Flying in Dublin in the middle of Sept for approx. a week in Ireland and then to Spain where we fly out of Barcelona to Toronto. Question: what airline to fly from Dublin to Madrid is best? Will take the train from Madrid to Barcelona , but would fly straight to Barcelona from Dublin if we had to. Thanks for any help.

Hi everyone,

My first trip to Ireland and I'm so excited. I am going to spend 2 nights In Galaway, and I only have 2 more open nights to see the West, before heading back to Dublin. These are the two plans I'm debating... If anyone can guide me it would be much appreciated! (Please excuse my bad spelling typing on a tiny phone!)

Plan A:
Day 1: arrive Galway 1pm, stay Galway
Day 2: day trip to an Aran Island (need to pick one) and Cliffs of Moher, back to Galway
Day 3: Drive down to Killarney…

I'll be traveling by train in Ireland in August. I know how and when to book low rail fares in advance in the UK using trainline.com. But I haven't yet figured how and especially when to do that in Ireland.

I've gone to the Irish rail website looking for advance fares from Galway to Dublin August 1, but so far it says "not available". I assume that's because it's still too soon.

Can someone help me here please? Thx.

My wife and I will fly to Dublin from Southampton in late July, and we are planning to take a bus directly from the airport to Galway. How important is it to pre-reserve tickets for such buses? I have found there are at least 2-3 bus lines that we could choose from, and their websites always urge you to reserve in advance, so they get to hold onto your money longer! I'm not opposed to that, and I do like the certainty of knowing I won't show up at the queue to board a full bus and have to…
