Hello all,

I am on my way to Ireland as we speak. When I arrive in Dublin I will be taking a train across to Galway. What is the best form of Transportation for the ten minute drive to Corrib Village at NUI, Galway? Is there Uber or Lyft? Or is taxi the best route? Is there anything I should be sure to avoid? All information is welcome.

Thank you!

Hi everyone!

My girlfriend and I are heading to Ireland for a road trip, in the first week of September. We're looking to island hop through Aran and stay overnight somewhere. So we can get away from the car for a while, do some walking / exploring, and get a bit closer to the 'rawmess' of Ireland.

We're intending to head out from and return to Doolin. But the LPlanet guide book suggests this may not be realistic, as 'ferries are often cancelled'.

Is anyone able to tell me whether this really…

Karaoke

Hey Guys,

I am heading to Ireland in August to travel around for 2 weeks.
Can anyone tell me if there is any pubs in Dublin or anywhere that does Karaoke?
I would love to do it.

Also one random question, is it better to exchange my money in Australia to Euro or do it once im over there?

Thanks for your time :)

Dan

First off, Hi :)
I'll be studying medicine in Ireland but I've been given an option of either NUIG in Galway or UCD in Dublin. I'm really torn apart so I figured I would ask and see if I can get help in deciding which one I should go for.

Thank you

Hi all!

I've just booked my flight to Ireland for mid Sept and will be there for a couple of weeks. It's my first time travelling alone so I would love to hear any tips for traveling in Ireland! I'm a pretty outdoorsy person, I enjoy hiking so the more sights, the better!

Here's my rough itinerary for places I'm staying overnight (feel free to tell me what I should fix)

  1. Dublin (~ 2 nights)
  2. Galway (~ 4 nights so I can do a day trip to the Cliffs and maybe Connemara)
  3. Killarney (~ 3…

Car hire

Hi everyone!

My girlfriend and I are heading to Ireland in Aug / Sep for 10 days. Really looking forward to it but trying to get our heads around the issue of car hire.

The prices seem to vary so much for the same category of car! Dooley is recommended a lot on here, but the price is 3 times what we find on rentalcars.

We obviously want value for money, but not sell ourselves short. Can anyone kindly offer us any advice please? Like is rentalcars too good to be true and to be avoided? Is…

Hi all,

Any tips on renting a car in Dublin? I know our USA insurance does not cover rentals in Ireland. We'll head from there for a week around the country and back to Dublin.
Should we bring our own GPS? Tips for riding on left side of the road if you're not used to it?

Thanks all!!

D-

Hi, all!

A friend and I are planning a trip to Ireland at the end of July to the early parts of August (leaving either July 23rd-24th and returning somewhere between August 8th-10th) - which leaves us roughly two weeks in Ireland. We're both young (21 and 18, respectively) and renting a car is out of the question (neither of us feels comfortable driving, and I'm pretty sure I can't rent a car at 18). So we have to do it all by public transport (trains/buses/etc).
Here's what I've planned out so…
