Lonely Planet review

Set in vast grounds at the lake's south end, this imposing 19th-century castle was all but razed by fire in 1939 but has been restored and is now the epitome of elegant country living. Most of the 96-room complex, including the spa and smart restaurant, exudes a sense of classic sophistication.

Our independent authors have visited Lough Eske Castle and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Lough Eske.
