Lonely Planet review

Set in vast grounds, this imposing 19th-century castle was all but razed by fire in 1939 but has been painstakingly rebuilt and restored and is now the epitome of elegant country living. Most of the complex, including the minimalist rooms, decadent spa and smart restaurant, is spanking new but exudes a sense of classic sophistication mixed with impeccable contemporary style.

Our independent authors have visited Lough Eske Castle and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Lough Eske.
