Northern Ireland - Random questions require insighful answers

Heading to Northern Ireland for around 6 days for a bit of a "Who Do You Think You Are?" search by my lonesome.

A couple of quickies to supplement this quick but hopefully super-fun trip:
1. Need to get to Carrickfergus for a scratch around. Easiest transport from Belfast?
2. Any recommendations on amazing or unique accomodation in the North? Price no issue (woo hoo!)
3. Looking at the map, seems to be easy distances to see Giants Causeway and L'Derry.. do-able in a day or is a night around…

Halloween in Ireland not spent in a bar.. what can we do?

My GF and I will be there for 7 days, and the last 3 days we'll be in the Dublin/Malahide/Wicklow area. We'd love to spend Friday on Halloween doing something casual, local, but 'charming'. We have no plans of getting dressed up and drunk off our minds in a pub - we're from NYC so we've had our fill of antics like that. Just looking for something a bit different and low-insanity.

I heard there were outdoor bonfires of the sort, but I have no idea where to go. It would be really great to see…

I am doing a 30 day backpacking trip through Europe May 2015. I am a single female from the US and this will be be my first solo trip. I plan to visit Ireland as the last leg of my trip and fly out of Dublin. I will be arriving to Ireland via Scotland.

Hiking trip in Ireland with boyscouting

Hello,

We are a boyscouting group from Bruges, Belgium and we're planning on going on a hiking trip in the summer (13th-29th of july) with about 40 guys (monitors included). We don't know a lot about hiking in Ireland, so we're looking for some tips and tricks about the following things:
- We're planning on hiking along the Wicklow Way, but is there any better option? We would prefer to walk off-road for about 4-5 days.
- Tent camping along the way (preferable for free)
- After our 4-to-5 day…

Cycling in the North, and a lot of archaeology.

I found it hard to find much info on cycling in Ireland before I went so I'm posting this trip report.

Most of my trip was based on the North West Trail. A website devoted to this well-planned 300km circuit has inexplicibly been closed down, cycleNI is quite good on short rides but there's little that can be downloaded to a phone. Detailed maps showing the things I want most – quiet side roads, terrain and archaeology – do not seem to be as easily found as the British ordnance surveys maps, the…

Connemara Cycle Paths

Hi

We go to visit Connemara in October and planning to hire a bike and cycle some of the small roads.

I heard there was a cycle path to Clifden , is this path off road and how long is it?

Connemara looks great in National Park
and in the Connemara Moving Postcards

I love the nature and peacefulness of Ireland.

Can I hire a bike in Clifden or should I get one in Galway

Apart from Clifden are there any other cycle paths, 50km a day is about our limit.

Thanks

Giovani

Ireland Postal Service

Hello,

I'm after some information and advice. When I was checking out of my hostel in Killarney, I asked the chap at reception where the letter box was as I had to post three postcards. He offered to post them for me. All's good.

Two months later none of the three people have received their postcards. After emailing the hostel to which they replied "to the best of their knowledge they posted my cards, as they always do for all their guests,
they usually have a policy to post all…
