Lonely Planet review for Taj Mahal

In the hotel of the same name, the Taj has a reputation for serving the best Indian food in Iran. The curries here are mouth-watering and there is a good range of vegetarian options. Pity about the location.

Delicious Indian food, in a luxe (for Iran) setting

    katmar33 recommends this,

The food in Iran is fresh and delicious, but monotonous. Escaping to this Indian restaurant that produces excellent fragrant and spicy curry was welcome relief for my tastebuds.

Excellent curries, as good as any I have tasted elsewhere in the world. (That said I have never been to India!) An unexpected pleasure was the quality espresso coffee.

This place is ritzy by Iranian standards; set inside a 5 star hotel, service is good and table cloths are crisp white.

Only negative is that it is expensive and a bit of a trek from where I was staying. I was at the point in my trip that I needed to eat something other than the Iranian staple of kebab... so the trek and cost were worth it.
