I have come back from Iran and would like to recommend you an interesting place in Mashhad to stay and have good time. It is the home of Mr. Vali Ansari Astaneh and his family. It is not a hotel or hostel but the home full of rugs and carpets, with great family atmosphere and delicious home made food. Mr Vali is taking guests to his home for many years, so he has experience. Except of it he is the local guide, knows a lot about the region and speaks many languages. He deals with rugs…
me and a friend will spend two weeks in Iran during October and would love to climb Mt. Alam Kuh via the easier Hesar Chal route.
Any information about weather conditions, recommended guides, accommodation at the starting point eg. are most welcome. We would need tent and food maybe also sleeping bags and mats.
Thank you very much!!
I am travelling to Iran for the month of November, and trying to figure out how much USD cash to budget.
I have good friends in Iran who will be putting me up for most of the time, so I don't expect to have to pay for very much accommodation and probably not too much food either. Regardless though, I don't want to get stuck without enough cash so wondering what people budgeted for a month there?
Thanks in advance!
I am planning my 12 days trip to Iran. Is it possible to get from Persepolis to Yazd by shared taxi?
My idea was after spending one or 2 of days in Shiraz, move to Persepolis and from there to go to Yazd. I would like to avoid having to go back to Shiraz
Hi forum,I would like to apply for a visa to visit Iran and have several questions:
Should I apply for the Visa beforehand or VOA?
Should I travel without my American Passport?
Will there be any issues since my Italian passport lists that I am born in the USA?
Thank you to anyone who replies.
Obviously I didn't get organised and completely forgot about the whole VPN situation - can anyone tell me how I can download a VPN onto
a) my computer (mac)
b) my phone (iphone)
while i'm IN iran?
I've spent a few hours looking around but everything either needs to go to the app store (which is blocked) or the website itself is blocked.
I'm sure there's a way...
We are looking into the cost of Iranian visas for our trip - and they seem very expensive! Am I right in thinking that there are two fees - the one you pay a company to get you the code number, and the one you pay for the visa - currently £150 for British citizens? It seems insanely expensive!
Me and my girlfriend are planning a 10 day trip to Iran in Easter 2017. We were planning on buying the Lonely Planet guidebook until we noticed that it was published over four years ago - in 2012!
Are there any other guidebooks that you would recommend?
Could anybody comment on the credit card and ATMs situation in Iran, now that sanctions have been lifted?
I would not like to walk around with large amounts on cash money, and I find it difficult to estimate in advance how much money I will spend in Iran.
Thanks in advance!
