Since I failed to find a flight from Tehran to Shiraz on a saturday I have to change my route.
Because of this change I have problems how to plan my trip around the religious Ashura.
I prefer to stay in Isfahan that day, but since I don't have much time I have to take that day a bus to Yazd or Tak taku guesthouse.
Are there any public transport available on Ashura?
If not I will go one day early to Yazd. Will there be the celebrate Ashura in Yazd too?

NOTES ABOUT IRAN: My driver was very good. He loved the mountains and I think he probably took more photos of scenery than I did if that's possible!! We didn't stop for lunches. He had a thermos of tea and some biscuits and we stopped for that every 100 or so kilometres. He was very kind hearted and just wanted to do the best for me at every stage. He had no clue about maps. And only started to trust my map reading directions after Shahr-e Kord where we had arrived after midnight and I…
HI, WE'RE A MIDDLE AGED BRITISH COUPLE, USED TO MODERATELY ADVENTUROUS TRIPS WITH PUBLIC TRANSPORT OR SMALL TOURS IN NORTH AFRICA. WE'D LIKE ADVICE AND HOPEFULLY FELLOW TRAVELLERS FOR A 15 DAY TRIP IN MID TO LATE OCT 2015. WE'RE ESPECIALLY INTERESTED IN SUFI ASPECTS OF IRAN (MOSQUES, TEAHOUSES ETC) AND SEEING THE DESERT/MOUNTAIN AREAS NEAR ESFAHAN AND YAZD.
WE'D LIKE TO USE TRAINS WHERE POSSIBLE, AND CAR/COACH/MINIBUS WHERE NOT. MIDRANGE HOTELS.

I am a pakistani national living in Kuwait. I am planning a trip to Pakistan from Kuwait on my own car. I will enter in Iran from Abadan or Bushehr port, then travel all the way to Mirjaveh and enter in Pakistan. I have heard from some iranian friends neither Zahedan nor bordering villages are safe to drive. Better to drop this plan. Is it really the case ???
I am travelling to Iran for a 2 week holiday and would like to hike in the mountains north of Teheran. I am an experienced hiker and will be there end of october.
