Ambarita, about 5km north of the Tuk Tuk Peninsula, has a group of 300-year-old stone chairs where important matters were discussed among village elders and wrong-doers were tried – then apparently led to a further group of stone furnishings where the accused were bound, blindfolded, sliced and rubbed with garlic and chilli before being beheaded.

Guides love to play up the story and ask for volunteers to demonstrate the process. It is customary to pay a small fee for the tale, or risk being turned into a garlic-and-chilli-flavoured dinner!
