Hi,

We'll be in Bali (staying around the Seminyak area) for 3 days in October. Does anyone have recommendations for a reliable taxi driver we could hire. We'd need a guy for atleast a day when we wish to visit Ubud and around for a day trip and maybe two days if we wish to visit some other areas up north.

If not a taxi, what else will you guys recommend for travelling within Bali and visiting some of the touristy places?

Hi,

We're travelling to Gili T and will be there for three days. Not enough days, I know, but we'd still like to do a short snorkelling tour around the islands. The dive shops such as Manta dive and all seem to only cater to proper scuba diving and I haven't found anything trust worthy for snorkelling. I, my wife and our 5 year old daughter are the ones travelling.

Can't find it if anyone already mentioned it. But for Indonesia the most reliable taxi company has an incredible app. At least for the IPhone, but I expect also for android. It's the Blue Bird taxi app. Wish I new that 2 weeks ago. Would have saved me a lot of money! Installed it today, ordered a taxi from Denpasar to Ubud and a few minutes later I was picked up at the hotel! It was half the price I paid a day before from the airport to the hotel in Denpasar.........
I had such a great feeling…

Hello all,

We are a 28 year-old couple from France planning to go to Indonesia (or else Laos) in February.
Flight tickets are very cheap (under 500 Euros) to land in Jakarta. We would stay for 3 weeks. So... I read a few topics about going to Indonesia in February / March. I was a bit skeptical about going there during the rainy season, now I tend to be a bit reassured. Before asking any questions, here's a bit of information about us and how we would travel there :

So far our…

Hello, I'm visiting Indonesia for the first time (will be my 36th country but have only been 5 days in Bangkok for Southeast Asia) as a solo female traveler with not much hiking experience but it's an interest I'd like to explore.
I have 16 days
I'll arrive in Jakarta late evening of October 15, and plan to take next available flight directly to Yogyakarta without leaving airport (or train if no good options) explore temples around there and Dieng Plateau, then head to Mt Bromo and Ijen. I tend to…

Hello
we are thinking of going to North Sumatra for 2 -3 weeks with our babies (3 months (by then!) and 2 y.o.). We live in Hanoi so travel to Sumatra is short (via KL), but we are still asking ourselves whether it is appropriate to travel with a just newborn. So some questions:

  • how is the weather, good for travel? - I was told that North Sumatra should be fine in January but I want to double check

  • is it in general advisable infrastructure (hospital, travel) wise?

Hi,

Preparing for the next leg of my Indonoisya trip I have a few questions. Just in case there's a rainy day at your end please share any thoughts that might help me...

  1. I found a cheap flight from Manado to Galela near Tobelo, have read about Danau Galela earlier on, but wonder if there's any place to stay in that area or that Galela is nothing more than the airport for Tobelo, making that the obvious place to stay.

  2. From there I will head to Sofifi and wonder if there's…

Hi,

My husband and I are planning a trip to Indonesia in September next year. We want to stay in Bali for a week and to all the sights and then just flop for the second week and do some snorkelling, discovery dives, eat nice food and a few drinks in the evening but nothing crazy. We were looking into the Gilis but I can't bring myself to do it because of the mode of transport on the islands. May sound silly but that's just me :-). Anyway, could anyone please recommend any islands similar to…

I am a male travelling solo to Bali from 7th- 10th Oct and wanted to check if I can get help of any freelance photographers to shoot some pics at the scenic pictureseque locations of Bali. Most of the photographers seem to be only engaged with wedding photography . Please let me know if any one knows. Thanks a lo
