Hello
we are thinking of going to North Sumatra for 2 -3 weeks with our babies (3 months (by then!) and 2 y.o.). We live in Hanoi so travel to Sumatra is short (via KL), but we are still asking ourselves whether it is appropriate to travel with a just newborn. So some questions:

  • how is the weather, good for travel? - I was told that North Sumatra should be fine in January but I want to double check

  • is it in general advisable infrastructure (hospital, travel) wise?

Hi,

Preparing for the next leg of my Indonoisya trip I have a few questions. Just in case there's a rainy day at your end please share any thoughts that might help me...

  1. I found a cheap flight from Manado to Galela near Tobelo, have read about Danau Galela earlier on, but wonder if there's any place to stay in that area or that Galela is nothing more than the airport for Tobelo, making that the obvious place to stay.

  2. From there I will head to Sofifi and wonder if there's…

Hi,

My husband and I are planning a trip to Indonesia in September next year. We want to stay in Bali for a week and to all the sights and then just flop for the second week and do some snorkelling, discovery dives, eat nice food and a few drinks in the evening but nothing crazy. We were looking into the Gilis but I can't bring myself to do it because of the mode of transport on the islands. May sound silly but that's just me :-). Anyway, could anyone please recommend any islands similar to…

Hi!

I'm booking a last minute trip since I have a week off from work. I would love to get any advice on where to go and stay as a female solo traveler. I love hiking, beautiful scenaries, cultural establishments and delicious food! Definitely not looking to party.

Hi,

I just came across some quiet old threats looking for a budget but safe komodo liveaboard next month.
I am planning to go to Labuan Bajo in october 2016 to do a 3 - 4 day liveaboard diving trip. It seems to be that there are loads of dive operators and I wondered if it's better to book in advance or just take it from there, since we will have two weeks in Flores only. Furthermore I am looking for some specific recommendations for a budget but definitely safe operator.
I appreciate every…

I'm thinking about visiting West Sumatra next July or August, but am wondering what the smog situation tends to be there. Thinking Bukittingi, the coast, Maninjau area. My daughter has asthma so I have to factor in air quality, and I don't know when the smog season is at its peak in that area. Thanks.

Hello! We are two Canadian girls travelling through Indonesia, coming from Thailand. We want to go to Sumatra, and then have to catch a flight from Singapore to Ubud. We know that Canadians can easily get a 30-day visa once, but can we leave and then re-enter Indonesia within the 30-days? Thanks!

Hello,

I am planning to go to Bali in the month of October with my parents and my young son aged 1.10 years.

It would be really helpful if I could get advise on the best places to visit in Bali and suggestions on the ideal place to stay in Bali (Ubud OR Nusa Dua OR Kuta OR any other place ) which could be in a central location covering most of sight seeing places.

Any other advise will also be helpful and highly appreciated.

Cheers,
Tarika
