Let's try this again: I was planning a trip to Indonesia in February and this year ended up being pretty intense and I had to postpone my travel plans, so now I'm looking to go to Bali only for 2-3 weeks in late November, early December (between Thanksgiving and Christmas). I'm looking for hiking, culture, beach time. My wish list so far is:
Kuta - surfing
Ulu Watu - surfing
Ubud - batik course
Benoa harbour - sailing (do you recommend this here?)
Gunung Agung - hike
I'm traveling solo, mid-30's…
I'm looking into a trip to Bali/Lombok in the second half of February for 2 or 3 weeks to celebrate my big 3-0 birthday! I love diving, temples/culture, hotsprings and relaxing on beaches. My thoughts so far was something like:
Fly into Bali
Up to Ubud for a couple nights then over to the beach for diving
Ferry to Lombok to summit Mt Rijani
Few days in Gili Islands to relax before boat back to Bali and then depart
- Are there any important amazing temples along this route?
I'll be traveling to Indonesia for the first time from October 15 (arrive evening)-31 (leave at night) in and out of Jakarta.
I'd really like to do highlights of Java + Flores (including Rinca and/or Komodo).
I'm not sure if it's feasible/desirable to get from Labuan Bajo to Maumere with stops for some villages near Bajawa and Kelimutu in 4/5 days. I know flying is also an option and would possible be more economical as I've seen flights for $135 but then that's missing a good deal of…
I posted yesterday but have since been told (by my gf!) that I had gotten our priorities all wrong ;) So here goes a take two...We are a couple in our late 20’s, looking for a very relaxing and romantic 10-day beach holiday in Bali. We are not as bothered about seeing cultural sights or rocking nightlife as we will be arriving to Bali following two hectic weeks in Japan, but at least some of this would be nice.
Which of the Gili islands is the best for romantic and tranquil beaches, cosy meals…
I want to travel with 2 friends and stay at local house in Misool. I very often visited Misool and I want to introduce my friend the real hidden paradise. so we put my boat for exploring the hundreds of islands in Raja Ampat . if you want to participate you can shared cost with my friend to buy benzine. My friend and I stayed at a village in the house of my brother.
My girlfriend and I are visiting Bali for 10 days (straight off the back of a packed two weeks in Japan). We are both in our late 20’s and are looking for some great beaches, interesting culture/nightlife and a bit of luxury. Based on some reading, I would like to visit Seminyak for 5 days, followed by 3 days on a Gili island and 1 or 2 days in Ubud to finish off. Very grateful for thoughts on:
(1) Which Gili Island? I thought Gili T sounded like the best base (due to accommodation…
I'm travelling for the next 2 months in Bali and Lombok - late 30s, female, wondering if any other solo travellers are looking for people to meet up with and share the adventure? I'd love to hear from you,
Hi all - I have an unexpected amount of free time and decided I will finally get down to Indonesia to do as much diving as I can with a 60 day visa. In looking at the boats in and around Komodo and Raja Ampat for Sept / Oct (I know I am pretty late to the game) I may be well booked out at my budget. I am wondering if anyone has any insight or experience with being in the main ports like Labuan Bajo and Sarong and book the trip right then and there?
I'd imagine there might be a scenario where…
I bought train tickets from Jakarta to Purwoketo, but now I changed my mind and want to go directly to Yogyakarta, so I will buy also tickets from Purwoketo to Yogya. Can I print these 2 tickets on station in Jakarta, or it is not possible?
I'm planning to be in Indonesia in mid October for around 10 days. I'm well aware this is not nearly enough but it's all I have.
Because time is limited I was thinking to stay in an island not super difficult to reach but not too touristy.
All I'm looking for is a stunning beach to relax, do some snorkeling and explore the local culture in between swims!
Am I asking for too much? Does this place exist at all?
Indonesia has so many beautiful beaches that my search for a place has become…
