Can anybody describe the differences - if they are major ones - or refer me to websites that do, in the ogoh-ogoh activities in Kuta, Denpasar, and Ubud? Thanks.
(I thought I had posted this here earlier, but I don't see it. If it's a repeat of another post, my apologies.)
Good evening fellow travelers.
We are a group of four interested in visiting tora toraja region among others in august ( 12 till 24 ). The first I would like to ask is how do we get there. Are there plane flights to rantepao? also is it certain that there will be a burial in the area? We are animal lovers and we ve read that they sacrifice animals during the ceremony. The whole of our journey will be a fortnight and we intend to visit Medan, Borobudur , Bali and tora toraja. Do you think it is…
A friend of mine and I are flying from Singapore to Bali in August for 2 weeks.
As it´s high season, tickets are increasing... we are afraid of buying the tickets now and missing any promotion that comes later on.. What do they recommend? Do you think it´s better to buy the tickets now or wait for any promotion?
Thanks in advance
We are flying to Makassar tomorrow and will be flying out from Makassar in 17 days.
It was a bit of a last minute decision and after briefly reading about the island which seems to be absolutly beautiful. But now that I am trying to slightly organise an itinerary, it seems very difficult to move around with public transport, or even hard to find cheap hotels (under 200 000/per night) in places outside of Makassar. It is only because they are not on the internet or is it really…
Hi. Thought I was clever flying out of Bali the night before Nyepi but hadn't counted on rhe ogoh ogoh parades making it difficult to get from Seminyak to the airport. Flight is not until 11.30pm, so don't really want to go to airport too early. Anyone have any experience with this?
I will be travelling around Bali for 2 weeks in May and would love if anyone who has been there could give me some advise and contacts for drivers that are genuine as I want to feel safe and at the same time not be ripped off.
Hi! I just posted a trip report on my trip so far in Sulawesi but have questions for others who have been there before.
I'm an experienced trekker and can usually compress 4 day treks into 2 etc. I'm at the end of a year of travelling and feel the urge to finish feeling exhausted, destroyed, and burnt out. I'm up for doing any day treks, multi day treks in the area, probably alone (unless.anyone wants to join?) and I have a tent.
(1) can anyone recommend good treks in the area? I have time to…
I will not dive into incredible detail here as I am typing on my phone....but here we go. This is my second time in Indonesia having passed a month in Sumatera 3 years ago. I have always been a budget traveller, but not "ultra budget" always, so bear that in mind please when reading. I go for cheap accommodation, eat at the Warung and use public transport with the ocassional hitchhiking (more for logistics and interest than cost saving).
I arrived in Manado and found the city hot and pleasant…
I am currently living in Thailand and am planning a trip to Indonesia in May for around 20 days.
I was thinking of doing Sumatra - Java- Lombok, but I don't know if that is being too ambitious. I have been to Lombok before but only saw Sengiggi and did Mt. Rinjani. So I would just be spending a couple days in Kuta and then flying out.
I really enjoy the outdoors. I love trekking, snorkeling, and diving. So wanted to go spend a bit of time in Dieng and do Mt. Bromo while in Java. But I…
