Hi Folks. I am Albertine from The Netherlands and love to travel around in Indonesia (called by the late Multatuli ''Gordel van Smaragd'') Recently I visited the Peninsula Pangandaran, on the West coast of West Java, Indonesia.
Pangandaran seems to be in favor by many foreigners from all over the world. Especially from Europe.
I first checked in in a hostel in Pangandaran which was registered in the Lonely Planet Travel Guide for Indonesia.
After one day walking around the Boulevard in…
We are very excited about going to Indonesia for 14 days next month. We have made most of the airline and hotel reservations. We are now trying to sort out where/how we can/should get Indonesian rupiahs.
We will be flying into Jakarta from Singpore and then taking an Air Asia flight to Yogyakarta. My questions:
Is there an ATM machine in the International or Domestic terminal where we can withdraw Indonesian rupiahs? We will then travel to Bali and Flores. Where do people usually…
Hi everyone, I am planning a solo trip to bali for late jan/early feb and am looking for some advice and suggestions on pretty much everything! I will probably be staying for 2 weeks (haven't totally decided yet) and hoping to keep my spendings around or under 2000 AUD. I am thinking of booking just the first few nights accommodation (where??) and playing the rest by ear. I definitely want to visit Ubud, Seminyak, Uluwatu and also go to nusa lemongan for a few nights but am open to anything.
hello! I am currently in Bali and am likely to still be here during the high season arouns Christmas and New Years, does anyone have any advice or suggestions of places to head to avoid the tourist inundation and price inflation?
Just an FYI, a few days ago the price of subsidized gasoline increased to 8,500 Rp/Liter. Expect some price increases across the board, but especially for transport. Another good reason not to be shocked by the price differences between the LP book and the current reality, especially since fuel prices have just about doubled from the time the most recent LP was written.
we will have (only) 2 full days to spend in Yogyakarta, at the beginning of January.
Do you think it's better to do:
- Borobudur Sunrise and Prambanan tour in one day (and keeping the next day for the city tour)
- one day Borobudur Sunrise, and the next day Prambanan (Sunrise or Sunset)
I was thinking that maybe it's too much "temples", all in one day... or instead it's good to see them together and it's better to have a full day to spend around the city (Taman Sari Water Castel,…
I'm planning a trip to Indonesia with my family during July 2015. Eid al-Fitr takes place on Friday 17th July and I've read this could be a difficult time to travel around certain areas of Indonesia.
I'd be grateful if anyone has any advice on specific dates to avoid travel.
- When do people typically travel?
- When do things start to return to normal?
- Would we be better delaying our trip until 24th July?
Thanks in advance!
I am at Bali for the moment, and have planned to go to Gili Air. I have read that it is possible to snorkle direkt from the beach at the northeastside of the Island. But is there something to see? You can allways snorkle from the beach😉
And du you know a nice guesthouse. Have looked at Bibas, but can't find the rate.
Has anyone stayed recently at the Mambrasar Homestay at Kri?
