Two of us are going to Borobudur from Yogya anywhere from the 34th to 6th of August. Does anyone want to share a driver with us?
We might go for the sunrise tour but are not married to the idea....
For a destination as popular as Kawah Ijen, there’s surprisingly little accurate information online. Here are a few current facts and opinions based on my recent visit on July 27th 2016.
In Wanyubangi, I was quoted 600K Rp for a jeep that carries up to 6 passengers, 220K Rp for an ojek ride, and 75K Rp + petrol for the motorcycle rental self-drive option. I had planned to rent a motorcycle and go up on my own, but ended up teaming up with 5 other people at my guesthouse for sharing a jeep. It…
I'll be spending 5/6 weeks in Indonesia in Sept/Oct and am looking for thoughts on what to choose from the endless options! I am a 30-something female and have the following so far:
- 5 days TBD (flying in from Brisbane)
- 1 week in Java: Meet friend in Yogyakarta and visit Borobudur/Mt Bromo/Ijen
- 1 week Lombok Surf camp
- 8-9 days TBD but probably Flores area
- Meet friends in Bali - 1 week
I'm looking for some suggestions for where to spend the first 5 days before meeting…
We are an Aussie couple in our early 30s and would like some input and suggestions into our travel plans to Lombok and the Gili's for 15 nights in September, 2016. We are active people but are looking for a reasonably chilled holiday with snorkelling, surfing, some light hikes, culture, great scenery and a variety of accommodation types. We are not interested so much in party scenes, diving, Bali (but might spend a couple of nights there at the end...not sure). Anyways;
So I am going to watch a cycling event in Sumatra. Anyway, I still could not decide a good place to stay since it is already the end of July and the event will be held on 6th to 14th August. It is also the first time for me to visit Sumatra and I could not find proper information about where to stay. The article on Tour de Singkarakalready stated the cities but is there anyone who could tell me which is the best place to stay? Or is it better for me to jump from one city to another?
I am thinking of taking a solo trip to Bali at the end of August, and I thought it would be cool to sail to the eastern islands like Sumba and so on from there but on a kind of liveaboard that can stop off at places or whatever. I have been googling and searching - but seem to find surfing liveaboards (I prefer snorkelling and kayaking). Does anyone know any companies they can recommend or whether it's a common thing?
My wife and I are travelling to Bali and Sulawesi at the beginning of August for 20 days and would like some advice on the following points:
- Safety & reliability of Lion AIr (Denpassar to Makassar)
- How long to spend in Sulawesi? 3 nights in Pantai Bira and 3 nights in Tanah toraja already planned - any other must do's in Sulawesi?
- Getting from Bira to Tanah toraja?
- Is there a particularly time to go for the burial ceremonies in Tanah toraja?
- Would we need to book the…
Hi all, could anyone recommend a cheap, chilled out island or beach I could spend my last few days in Indonesia, with a nice backpacker vibe and some diving/snorkeling?
I am looking for somewhere accessible and easy to get to from either Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur - spent some time in the Gili Islands and loved it.
I will be in Flores for 6 days and I am wondering how to make the most of my time there. I'm planning on flying from Denpasar on 29th (it looks like a morning flight is available to LB and also to Ende) and returning to Denpasar on 4th. no flights booked as yet. I'd like to do a boat trip around Rinca, Komodo etc.. for 2 or 3 days (with some diving) and I'd also like to see Kelimutu. I am very sporty, so happy to do activities or treks. they can be pretty basic, I don't need upmarket…
