The restaurant is housed in a tastefully renovated Dutch building. The food is a triumph of form over content, but there is no better place to spend cocktail hour.

    Pappa's looks like it could do with a night off the booze, but the frontier-style atmosphere still draws what crowds there are, the walls are covered in travellers' scribblings, there's MTV and the food (pancakes, nasi goreng, steaks) just about passes the taste test.
