All the bus and jeep options, and their offices mentioned here, are found at the chaotic Motor Stand.

Land

Bus & jeep

Bengal government buses run regularly to Siliguri (Rs 50, 2½ hours), and there’s also a single Sikkim Nationalised Transport (SNT; Rs 70, 3½ hours) bus to Gangtok at 1pm.

Trivini Travels (257311) and Himalayan Travellers (9434166498) run minibuses or share jeeps to Gangtok (Rs 80, three hours, departs 7.30am and 1.30pm), Lava (Rs 50, 1½ hours, departs 8am and 1.45pm) and Kaffer (Rs 80, three hours, departs 8am and 1.45pm).

Kalimpong Mainline Taxi Driver’s Welfare Association (KMTDWA; 257979) has regular share jeeps to Siliguri (Rs 70, 2½ hours), Gangtok (Rs 80, 2½ hours), Lava (Rs 40, 1½ hours), Kaffer (Rs 60, 2½ hours) and Jorenthang (Rs 60, two hours, departs 7.15am). KS & AH Taxi Driver’s Welfare Association (259544) has a jeep to Ravangla in Sikkim (Rs 100, 3½ hours, departs 2pm). Kalimpong Motor Transport (255719) has a regular share-jeep service to Darjeeling (Rs 70, 2½ hours).

Jeeps can also be chartered for Darjeeling (Rs 800), Siliguri (Rs 800) and Gangtok (Rs 850).

Train

The Kalimpong Railway Out Agency (259954; Mani Rd; 10am-4pm Mon-Sat, till 1pm Sun) sells a small quota (mostly sleeper class) of tickets from New Jalpaiguri train station.
