Royal Honeymoon Asia
Blog: Fish Egg Tree - 2 May 2011
There was a big surprise over the weekend when the palace announced, seemingly at the last minute, that Price William and his bride Kate would postpone their honeymoon. It ended a lot of ridiculous speculation by the media about where the couple would be spending their honeymoon--in such outlandish locations as Kenya, the Virgin Islands and Lizard Island, off Australia.

Pawan Dham,Haridwar,India
Blog: My Travels My Experiences - 2 May 2011
On our way to Haridwar we stopped at Pawan Dham, a glass temple which one should not miss while visiting Haridwar. As the name implies,it is primarily a Hanuman Mandir(temple) but you will find almost all Hindu deities made of glass intricately carved. Also aesthetically designed glass work of deities are found on the temple wall apart from the glass idols. Thats where the beauty of Pawan Dham lies. This modern and untraditional temple is 2kms from Haridwar town.

HARIDWAR in Pictures(2)
Blog: My Travels My Experiences - 2 May 2011
The Ganga aarti at the banks of Har-ki-pauri, a ghat in Haridwar is very famous. Its a mesmerizing, heart and soul touching experience, an experience I will never forget in my life. The Ganga arti(worshipping of river Ganga) is performed in the evening and the scene becomes livelier with hundreds of glowing lamps and garlands float along the waters of Ganga. And the sound of temple bells and mantras being chanted in the background makes it a magical sight which can’t be express in words.

INDIA booking trains on line and getting the tourist (TATKAL) quote
Blog: Travel log and tips for budget travel by backpacking, RV (motorhome) and cruising - 2 May 2011
Travelling in India we have learnt that if there is a train making the journey it is almost always better than taking the bus providing you can book a seat. Rather than waste time queuing at stations (first for the application form then to get a ticket) and getting bad information and outright lies why not book on the Internet. The India rail website has improved no end and I have booked on line using a UK credit card.

Blog: A Wandering Mind - 30 April 2011
My blog seems to continue on the 'silent mode' while I am busy with so many things...... On one hand, as I mentioned earlier, I have been travelling quite a lot, on the other hand, I have also been busy writing about things other than travel...... Most interestingly, for the first time, I have been part of two collaborative posts on two different sites.....

Self-Proclaimed “Ugly Indians” Take a Stand to Beautify India’s Streets
Blog: Girl, Unstoppable - 28 April 2011
In India, I encountered a lot of Indians who would like to see India as what it has the potential to become rather than what it is right now. I also met a lot of Indians who seemed to truly want outsiders to enjoy their time in India and see the merits of their country. [...]

Photo Essay: Life and Movement in Delhi
Blog: Girl, Unstoppable - 25 April 2011
On my last day in India, I hired an autorickshaw driver to take me around to some of Delhi’s main sites in the morning. Getting from place to place in Delhi provided a great glimpse into everyday life: A vendor finishes setting up his apple stand. Behind him, the shops are just beginning to get [...]

India is the ultimate destination for the photo happy; it seems that in any direction you point your camera, there is something fascinating to capture. Relieved in Smoggy Delhi
Blog: Girl, Unstoppable - 19 April 2011
Delhi has quite possibly the most polluted air my lungs have ever inhaled. So it might seem strange for me to say that along the northern route I took in India, Delhi was the place that gave me a breath of fresh air. Metaphorically, of course. The first sign that I might like Delhi came [...]

India’s Staring Culture
Blog: Girl, Unstoppable - 18 April 2011
There were numerous aspects of India that could have shattered my travel resilience, but what ultimately did it was the staring. It wasn’t just that I felt eyes on me regularly, it was also that the eyes were blank and unrelenting. And they continued to stare and stare even when they met mine and I [...]

Photo Essay: Exploring the Amber Fort in Jaipur
Blog: Girl, Unstoppable - 11 April 2011
On our drive up to the Amber Fort, I had no expectations. We eventually left behind the city density for shady roads that were surrounded by more trees than people. We began to see the old city wall of Jaipur, jutting out of the sides and tops of dusty hills. I felt a tangible presence [...]

Udaipur city
Blog: Indian Bazaars - 8 April 2011
There are times when you think about how travel has changed you and how places become memories and how every recollection makes beauty rise again to change you one more time. I had just begun to meander that morning by the Pichola Lake wanting to simply walk along the streets of Udaipur city in that light that I had discovered the day before, a light that seemed to belong only to the morning, the light that fell on the Lake Palace, creating most of its charm, the light that let the water dance on the walls of the many pavilions beyond.
