Have you heard of a temple which is open to people of all communities? Where people irrespective of their class, creed and religion can go and pray. Yes, there is such a temple in ASSAM. It is Shyam Mandir, basically a temple of Lord Krishna( VISHNU), situated in a small hillock in Narengi area of Guwahati. The temple is a part of Indian Carbon Office Complex at Narengi. The owner of Indian Carbon, Late Prabhudayal Himatsingka built it. You will find his statue in the middle of the mandir premises.

Blog: Diario de a bordo - 24 May 2011
Thelasar, 14 de enero de 2011. Esa noche apenas pudimos pegar ojo.

Travel in India: Social Challenges
Blog: Vagobond.com - 20 May 2011
India is a fascinating tourist destination with an amazing mix of ancient beauties, colorful folk and classical dances and above all hospitable people but a more friendly approach towards tourists could definitely help to drive the country towards capitalization of global tourism.

Quirks of New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport (and domestic)
Blog: Travel log and tips for budget travel by backpacking, RV (motorhome) and cruising - 11 May 2011
Security at Delhi airport is very interesting. This information applies to Terminal 3 where some domestic and all international flights arrive on the lower floor and departures are on the upper floor. On arrival be aware that if you walk out of the terminal building you cannot re-enter under any circumstances For departures once you enter the building, even if you don't check in, you cannot leave under any circumstances. Worse still the seats are uncomfortable and there are few shops or places to eat.

Wanderful Words No. 27: The Secret Destinations of a Trip to India

“All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.” – Martin Buber A four day wedding and a little journey across northern India, that’s all.
Blog: Diario de a bordo - 6 May 2011

Good value Rajasthan rooms and hotels with swimming pools
Blog: Travel log and tips for budget travel by backpacking, RV (motorhome) and cruising - 4 May 2011
We are budget concious travellers but try to maintain a reasonable standard of accomodaion and like to get value for money. Prices quoted are for a double en-suite room in April 2011. Hotels with pools were good as we could sight see in the mornings then relax by the pool later in the day when it was too hot to be out.

INDIA Booking things on line
Blog: Travel log and tips for budget travel by backpacking, RV (motorhome) and cruising - 3 May 2011
There are many websites to book things on line in India but the one we like best is Make My Trip The hotel sections offers very good rates on rooms and reviews to help - we booked a hotel through them, could not print out the voucher but were not even asked for it by the hotel. Flights, international and domestic, bus and train info is all on line. Another good site is Clear Trip but their prices were often dearer.

Seeking Nirvana in Bodhgaya – Where the Buddha attained enlightenment
Blog: Nomadic Notes Travel Blog - 2 May 2011
India has three of the four most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites in the world, with the fourth being in Nepal. That is an impressive heritage for a country that counts less than one percent of its population as Buddhist (though ask any business man and most would take 1% of billion any time). Out of [...]Seeking Nirvana in Bodhgaya – Where the Buddha attained enlightenment from Nomadic Notes Travel Blog
