Day 4 Mudumalai National Park
Saddle up once more, this time to ride into Mudumalai National Park, home to a rich and diverse animal population including wild elephants, monkeys and some Gaur (Indian bison). Cross into the fertile Tamil Nadu region and spend a free afternoon exploring 'Wild Haven' â“ a rustic planter's bungalow with superb views of the Nilgiri Mountains and the surrounding jungle.
Day 5 Ooty Hill Station
Make the ascent up the 36 hairpin bends to the historic Ooty Hill Station, the former summer capital of the Raj. After conquering the climb, take in the superb vistas and appreciate the cooler climes. While here, be sure to sample a steaming pot of the region's cardamom tea.
Days 6-7 Guruvayoor
Cycle down to the beach to spot colourful fishing boats bobbing in the water before heading along country roads to Guruvayoor. Along the way, stop for photos of colourful landscapes, watch locals going about their business and see the significant elephant population at the Sree Krishna Temple. In the evening, delight in the nightly spectacle of pooja.
Days 8-9 Kochi
