Lonely Planet review
Like a desert mirage, this forlorn beauty stands in solitary splendour 1km west of the fort. Built around 1890 as a guesthouse for colonial officials, it’s still owned by the Jaisalmer royal family. Rooms are elegant and spacious, with soaring ceilings and generous bathrooms. There’s a fabulous pool sunk into a walled garden and you can ride horses in the hotel’s own large grounds.
Our independent authors have visited Jawahar Niwas Palace and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Jaisalmer.
