Lonely Planet review for Ganesh Restaurant
This pocket-sized outdoor restaurant is in a fantastic location on the old city wall. There’s not much English spoken, but if you’re looking for a local eatery with fresh tasty food you’ll love it. It’s near New Gate, with a narrow, hidden stairway between two tailors – you’ll no doubt be helped to find the stairs.

Forgettable
roamingvj does not recommend this,
This place does not deserve to be on this guide. The owners are sitting there just to rob un suspecting tourists. They behave badly and ask money without any printed menu card. Beware and be ready to pay a fortune for totally ordinary stuff if you choose to ignore my advice.

common man's
dhanuraj recommends this,
Its a common man's restaurant, but you get tasty and safe prepared food. You can eat the same food which a common man of the place eats after his work in their own way. The food is cheap also.
The food prepared by the cook standing in a pit which you can see live. The restaurant owner speak english good enough for communication. They have menus in english as well now!!
You have to climb up stairs to reach this roof top restaurant with a terrace. But there is a portion with roof as well where the cook is standing in the pit. It would get crowdy in the evenings..
This is for some one who is really on a journey to explore the country....
