We are just starting to research a 3 month trip for January to March 2017, starting in Gujarat, at the moment thinking 6 weeks there (we like to travel slowly) and continuing to Nepal for 6 weeks. If any of the Gujarat experts have an opinion about spending 6 weeks there, we would be grateful for comments. Our last trip to India was 5 months in 2001/02 and our last trip to Nepal was 2 months in 1974. I do realize there will be many changes. First time to Gujarat though.
The last time I have entered India on a VOA, there was a restriction on the airports that I could use to enter.
They permitted only a few major airports.
Is that still the case?
I would like to enter (and exit!) from Vishakapatnam.
Does anyone know if this is possible?
If not and I would have to enter from, let's say, Chennai, can I LEAVE from Vishakapatnam or does it need to be the same airport that I entered from, or one of the major airports?
Thanks so much for your help!!!!
I'm sure it's been disscussed to death on here but where is the cheapest place to purchase a VISA for a Uk citizen ?
Looking for a single entry tourist visa as I don't imagine we'll be in India longer than 6 weeks.
I'm planning a trip to India, of 26 days, starting on 23th Nov.
I'm visiting the North of India.
I'm having a lot of doubts whether to buy a Indrail Pass or Point to point ticket.
In all of the sites i've been reading (including The Man on Seat 61) they all explain very well the pros and cons of each one, but still I can't figure out which one is best for me.
I've already manage to register myself on IRCTC an Cleartrip, and I also made contact with the agency in UK which sell…
I've been having issues trying to book a train ticket from the US. The India train website requires an India mobile number not currently associated with an existing account and they also need to send a code to verify the mobile number. Can anyone suggest a travel agency who will book the ticket for me? I've run out of ideas outside of asking people I barely know to buy the ticket for me.
I need to travel from Panaji (Panjim) to Palolem during early November. Although there are trains between Karmali Station to Canacona Station as well as buses, in the interest of convenience and time, I'd like to take a taxi between those places if possible. It's about 70 km / 43 miles distance and I'm wondering how realistic will this be? Will taxi drivers be willing to go there and what would a typical fare be? Would drivers expect me to pay for them to get back to Panaji? Should I try to…
Hoping I can gather some feedback from you all regarding an upcoming holiday to India. I've done a fair bit of research but I am honestly a little overwhelmed, and now worrying that it's getting too late to get travel etc. booked in! My husband and I, both in our 30s, have always wanted to visit India, and even before this first trip we know we will be wanting to come back. The only thing we have absolutely set in stone is that we are arriving in Mumbai on 29th Oct, and departing…
Has anyone used Aamantran Tours which is based in Jaipur, Rathjastan? Their tours seem almost too good to be true, although admittedly the prices go up substantially for a single person.
